Summary: | The Carrickmines Croquet and Lawn Tennis Club is the only club in the counrty in a position ot host international croquet events, having the requisite four lawns. Part of the clubhouse in the picture was originally the Norgegian pavillon in the Great Exhibition in Herbert Park, Donneybrook in1901. In the 1930's players could travel to Carrickmines' Railway Station and stay overnight at the clubouse on an 'all in' ticket, in one of the 4 or 5 rooms available. Plans are afoot to demolish this clubhouse and build a new one. |
