Summary: | The beautiful rounded corner of the old Royal Hotel, as seen in the Laurence photographs of the nineteenth century, was demolished overnight in 1980 and this ugly red-brick building put in its place, housing offices and some small specialist shops. What is left of the Royal Hotel is beside these and there is a corner of the Heritage Centre (previously the Court House built in 1841)seen on left. |
