Inside Arklow Catholic Church
|Main Creator:||Dobson, Eva J., photographer|
St Mary's and Peter's Church, Arklow was built in 1861. Archdeacon Redmond said that Arklow needed a proper church. The cost was mostly provided by money from the Fishermen. Fishing was really the only employment in the town at that time and many years after.
