Summary:Carnegie Library Greystones built 1910 . Official Opening 17 June 1912 by Lord Justice Cherry. Site : Donated by Trustees of Burnaby Estate : Architect : R.M. Butler . Cost : 800 pounds grant from Carnegie United Kingdom Trust . Original Floor Area : 145 sq meters. . Used as a Library and for dances , Lectures, meetings and technical instruction purposes.Greystones Library Committee had full responsibility for provision of books, maintenence of building and payment of wages.Wicklow County Council became Library authority in 1925 and 45sq.meters of extra space provided . Designated county Library H.Q. in 1945.In 1994 it was completely refurbished and an extension built at a cost of 115,000 pounds, total floor area 185 sq.meters.
