Summary:Following the decline in the textile industry and with fewer people required in agriculture unemployment became an increasing problem in the Dungannon area. In an attempt to provide work a glass making industry was started in Dungannon. Tyrone Crystal has been an outstanding success. It now has a fine modern factory on the Coalisland Road where visitors are attracted from all over the world to see the beautiful glassware being made and to buy their presents in the well appointed factory shop. Tyrone Crystal has expanded their business recently when they purchased the world famous pottery at Beleek in Co Fermanagh.
