Summary: | View of Norman motte at Ballywalter and the War Memorial Park.This motte guarded the river and was one of a number along the Six Mile River. It is 126 metres high with a flat top and is now in one corner of the Park. Soldiers from the castle at Carrickfergus reached the River Ollar near this point, a distance of six miles from their base and the river took on a new name. |
