Summary:A 2 pp. letter from Shackleton thanking Lord Balfour of Burleigh for the latter's writing about his lecture (Shackleton's "The heart of the Antarctic" was published in London in 1909 and he subsequently went on a lecturing tour of Europe and America). He also thanks Burleigh for his "kind invitation" which Shackleton declines saying his wife will not be with him and that he ought to stay in a hotel in order to "be in touch with arrangements".
