Main Street and Dunlo Street, Ballinasloe, Co. Galway
|Main Creator:||French, Robert, 1841-1917 photographer|
|Published / Created:||
[between ca. 1890-1914].
Research by our Flickr Commons users established that this is actually Main Street, Ballinasloe, and Dunloe Street is the street heading off to the left. And in fact, it’s spelt Dunlo. The Medical Hall is still a chemist (pharmacy), but the Irish House is a branch of AIB. Dating evidence was sparse, but they managed to whittle the date of this photograph from 1865-1914 to between 1890-1914.
