Laurence by Lawrence? Not quite (as Mr. French was the photographer), but this is a view that we can still replicate. Apart from the intrusion of the ubiquitous car that is. Drogheda is a town with a long and varied history, and it is only right that we should feature the remaining gate tower on its eastern side!

Through the gate, I see McCullough, Tea and Wine, Spirits. In the 1911 census, I see Patrick McCullough, 59, Poor Rate Collector and Publican.

The premises at left are labelled "Motor &" and has ads for cycles. On Palace Street (running to our left), I see Philip Fulham cycle and motor agent.

L_ROY_09994 could be the same day... includes a motor car, AI-8, which the 1911-12 motor directory says belonged to George H. Daly of Donecarney, Drogheda, a Justice of the Peace.

For today's streetview, I went with the 2009 vintage. How about the Geograph 1983 vintage? Or the Geograph 1970 vintage? Or the "Flickr is Amazing" 2014 vintage from [https://www.flickr.com/photos/swordscookie] :) www.flickr.com/photos/swordscookie/15093525553/
