Michele Esposito was born in Castellamare, near Naples but spent most of his life in Dublin. He was a professor of the piano at the Royal Irish Academy of Music and awarded an honorary doctorate from Trinity College Dublin in 1905. He founded the Dublin Orchestral Society in 1899.
