Three-quarter length, standing, directed and facing to left, (as pleading), short wig, embroidered long waistcoat, hat under right arm and scroll in hand, left hand on hip, sword hilt showing under coat; rectangular. Lettered title and caption underneath image; quotation from 'Heauton Timorumenos' by Roman playwright Terence 'Nihil humani a me alienum Puto' [Latin, "Nothing of that which is human is alien to me"].
