| Notes: | Michael Solomon Alexander was born in Germany to the Jewish faith but converted in 1825 to Anglicanism; he was consecrated as the first Anglican Bishop of Jerusalem in 1841. Prior to this, he acted as the secretary to the Church of Ireland Jews' Society in Dublin; he was also professor of Hebrew and rabbinical literature at King's College, London and held the title of Doctor of Divinity of Trinity College, Dublin. Alexander McCaul (1799-1863) was born in Dublin. He worked and translated publications for the London Society for Promoting Christianity amongst the Jews. Physical description: 2 pages. more |
