Black font on white paper. In bold, at top of poster: “WE HAVE PEACE- REAL PEACE NOT THE PEACE OF AN ELECTION CATCH-CRY. / FIANNA FAIL the Party salvaged by Mr. De Valera from the wreck of the Civil War - the Party whose record is uniquely one of disturbance and shelter or assistance to disturbers of the peace - the Party that six months ago marched to Bodenstown in the ranks of the self-styled I.R.A. - have begun to spread their customary election smoke screen. Mr. Lemass, ex-Minister of Defence in the remnant of defeated warriors who only five years ago still claimed the power of life and death over Irish citizens, now “declares officially” that the Fianna Fáil policy “is one that will lead to permanent peace in this island”. / Fianna Fáil spokesmen still pursue the policy of saying what they don't mean and meaning what they don't say. / PEACE: By liberating the gunmen. / PEACE: By removing the only bulwark that stands between the citizen and those whom Mr. De Valera calls “Brave but misguided men”. / PEACE: By legitimising the activist of Saor Eire and the I.R.A.; the Communists and the terrorists. / PEACE: By destroying the Treaty and provoking renewed trouble with England. / PEACE: By destroying the credit of people. Fianna Fáil don't want peace. They want all the votes they can beg, borrow, or entice TO GET THEIR REVENGE. Mr. Lemass says we misrepresent them. It isn't possible to misrepresent a party which blares with fives contradictory voices at the same time. He says we have given no indication of our own policy. / OUR POLICY and OUR RECORD are clearly written across the bright face of Reconstructed Ireland. / THEIR POLICY and THEIR RECORD are happily buried amid the ruins made by them, on which we have had to reconstruct. / That is why they have the effrontery to talk about Peace. / Vote for the Party that says what it means and means what it says. / At bottom of poster, (in bold, large caps.) “ENSURE THE CONTINUATION OF PEACE/ BY VOTING FOR / THE GOVERNMENT PARTY”. At bottom of poster:” Published by Cumann na nGaedhael, 5 Parnell Square, Dublin. Printed by the Temple Press, Temple Bar, Dublin”.
