Summary:Illustration of the actor George Shelton, who starred in a theatre production of J. M. Barrie's play 'Peter Pan, or The Boy Who Wouldn't Grow Up ' in London in January 1917. He is shown on a beach, with rocks in the extreme left and the sun setting behin a rock on the middle distance. The tide is shown coming in and he looks down at the waves. He is wearing a large green greatcoat, a striped black and white top, a silver doublet and large boots. A pistol and gun are shown stuffed under his belt. He wears glasses and has his hair tied up in a kerchief. A smaller illustration underneath this main picture shows Captain Hook being chased by a crocodile. Inscribed l.l. in ink 'To J. H.' [Joseph Holloway] and signed by artist underneath this inscription.
