Hamilton on behalf of the landlord John Mac Donnell to his tenants states that "...Mr. Mac Donnel has authorised me to remit the half-year's rent which fell due on the first day of last November, and is usually collected in the following May, to every tenant whose rent is less than £20 per annum, and shall satisfy me, that he has properly prepared, manured and sown, with either turnips, carrots, parsnips or mangold-wurzell, one-fifth part of his farm...". |
