Election handbill issued to encourage people to vote for the Sinn Féin candidate for South Armagh, Dr. Patrick McCartan in 1918 featuring a satirical illustration of Edward Carson, wearing peasant clothing, a shillegh under his arm, talking to a lady [John Redmond] who wears a hat that says "Home Rule" on it and wears an Irish harp brooch. She has a bag hanging from her waist that says "Conscription Dowry on the side, with the pound (£) symbol. Underneath this image it the following text: "Sir Edward Carson: "Frankly, I'm not all round your neck but everybody wants me to marry you for your Conscription Dowry". At bottom of sheet: "Printed for the candidate, Doctor Patrick McCartan, by O'Loughlin, Murphy and Boland, Ltd., Dublin; and published by the Sinn Féin Election Committee, 6 Harcourt Street, Dublin.
