Summary: | Handbill bears the title: "Lost on the Lusitania". Beneath this is a reproduction of a photograph of Hugh Lane. Underneath this is the following text:" Sir Hugh Lane. Height about 5ft. 11in./ Build - very slight./ Hair dark brown, slightly turning grey, rather bald, small pointed beard, chest hairy./ Forehead very high, deep set eyes, large nose./ Wore cellular underclothing marked "H. Lane" and Jaeger cholera belt./ Usually wore plain gold signet ring with lion crest as shown below./When last seen was wearing pearl tie pin./ Communicate by Wire with Charles Lane, 26 South Mall, Cork." Handbill is embossed on the lower left-handside, with the design on Hugh Lane's signet ring bearing the lion crest (referred to in the text of the handbill); the words 'Wm. Lane / Notary Public / Cork" encircle the crest. |
