ALS from Field Marshal Baron Frederick Sleigh Roberts, when Commander in Chief in Ireland, to 'Dear Sir',
1897 March 11.
|Main Creator:||Roberts, Frederick Sleigh Roberts, Earl, 1832-1914|
Thanks the recipient for his letter of the 9th in which he had asked Roberts to contribute a volume on the "Life and Work of Nicholson". Informs the recipient that he regrets that he is unable to do so because his time is fully occupied in Ireland.
Nicholson referred to in the letter is probably Brigadier General John Nicholson (1821-1857), who was a military legend in India.
