Summary:Bound in volume with later covers "A. Carr's Illustrated Catalogue 1877 Supplement to Edtion of 1874. 43 Courtland St. New York".


Includes some prose pieces, religious verses, verses about Irish history including references to Tursegius the Viking conquerer of Dublin, and to Cromwell, and folk songs, mostly 18th century in origin. Many of the items have authors named, such as Seághan Ó Briain, and a number are subscribed and dated by "Murty Tierney, Iskadagh", in a fine scribal hand reminiscent of members of the Ó Longáin family of Co. Cork. With occasional words and short passages in English.
