Notes:Bere Island (An tOileán Mór) is located in Bantry Bay in the west of Co. Cork. The island is also known as Bear Island. It is approximately 10 km long and 4 km wide and lies 2 km offshore from the fishing port of Castletownbere (also known as Castletown Berehaven or Berehaven) on the Beara Peninsula. The main harbour on the island is Lawrence Cove, near the main village of Rerrin, toward the eastern end of the island.
