Notes:Lough Derg lies about 4 miles north of the village of Pettigo in Co. Donegal, in the Diocese of Clogher. Station Island, the location of the Pilgrimage is often referred to as Saint Patricks Purgatory or simply Lough Derg. Lough Derg, is one of the oldest places of pilgrimage in the Christian world supposedly dating back to the 6th century and one of the few remaining penitential pilgrimages.
