Possible response to the seizure of Roger Casement on Good Friday 21st April 1916 and the interception of the "Aud", boat carrying arms for the rebels. The Rising was supposed to go ahead on Easter Sunday 23rd April 1916 but Eoin MacNéill inserted an advertisement in the Sunday Independent of Easter Sunday cancelling all moblization activities for that day. The Easter Rising went ahead the following day on Easter Monday.
