Summary: | Inscribed in pencil on verso "Cartoon of James Montgomery by Grace Plunkett". Satirical illustration of James Montgomery [who was appointed to the position of Irish film censor by William T. Cosgrave and served in this position until 1940] approaching a small statue on a plinth which reads "Venus de Milo"; the statue [whose features display a somewhat cross contenance] wears a skirt, football boots and a striped jersey, the sleeves of which are dangling (the ensemble covers up her nudity).
