Putting to the Test
[graphic] : Mr. Gladstone - Well, Mr. Pat, I have brought the Bill to you at last, in order that you may have an opportunity of examining it during the vacation. It cost me a deal of trouble, and I hope it will satisfy you. Pat - Yes, William, I will examine it most carefully. I have lately studied a little political chamistry, and as most things which I have got from across the water have been largely adulterated with selfishness and injustice, I intend to put the Bill to the severest tests, which you see I have at hand.
