Balfour.- "I have been as resolute as I could with him, and though I have succeeded in shaking his health I have not been able to shake his resolution, or to make him lower that flag". Salisbury.- "Humph!!! There is such a row outside, and as we cannot blow him from a gun, we will both reluctantly have to release him".
