Summary:William Stead (1849-1912), editor of the Pall Mall Gazette, stands with journal in one hand and is confronted by Charles Stewart Parnell and Thomas Sexton - they advise him to go to the country and investigate the facts for himself while a portly landlords present him with their picture of the Irish Tenant - a picture of penniless landlord and a rich tenant. Behind Stead lies a devastated rural landscape while an eviction takes place in the background.
