Dublin Baker.-"Well Chaps, what can I do for you?" ; Cabinet Minister.-"Beg pardon sir for intruding, but my official salary is only one thousand a year, and my friend here, the Lord Chancellor, has barely double that ; so we wish to better ourselves and if there is anything in your line going we would like to take up with the business.".
Poor woman.-"Is'nt [sic] it a shame to charge us such a price for bread, when flavour is so cheap ; we will only have to bake our own bread in future.".
