"Gone with a vengeance."

Sergeant [Lord] Hartington, on a recruiting expedition to the Irish hill-sides - "Now then, boy a good roll of your drum; for we are come to where our best and bravest soldiers have always been raised, and we are in need of the same sort at present." Old Molly - "Don't tire yer [sic, your] elbows, acushla! for don't ye know well that ye have driven away, to Americay [sic, America], all the fine strong men that used to be in these parts, and left only me to take yer shillin'." See Lord Hartington's Speech on the Army Estimates.
