Whereas, there have frequently been depredations committed on the grass, hay, trees, fruit, fowl, gardens, gates, ditches and hedges of the lands of Clontarf,
... we, the undernamed inhabitants of said lands, do hereby resolve, promise and agree ... that we will pay an equal proportion of the expence of every prosecution ... against any person, committing ... offences, ... on the property of any person who is a subscriber to this association. ... And, we appoint Michael Swift, ... attorney, for carrying on any prosecution in pursuance of this our association. ...
