Boots said to be worn by Sir Francis Wortley, (1591-1652), at the Battle of Naseby during the English Civil War, 1642-1648. Wortley fought on the side of the Royalists and commanded a garrison at Tankersley and led the battle on Tankersley Moor before being captured and imprisoned in the Tower of London.
