Sketchbook bound in wine leather cover with meuble boards, with pocket inside front cover. Label on verso of front cover with words "Published by T.J. Smith's Indelible Metallic Memorandum Book". Smaller label on verso of front cover bearing the sign of "Hallifax & Co., Late Bowen & Sanford, 315 Oxford Street". Label on verso of back cover bearing the words "Smiths' Pocket Almanac 1853". Contains 103 pencil sketches mainly of children, stag hunting, fishermen, rural scenes, landscapes. Some executed in Scotland, Dover (England) and Ireland.
