Leather case stamped on front "Adelaide Gallery Strand, Claudet' s Daguerreotype Process". Antoine Françoise Jean Claudet (La Croix-Rousse, 1797- London, 1867) was a French photographer who produced daguerreotypes. A student of Louis Daguerre, he was active in Great Britain.
