Lydia De Medalle, née Sterne, (b. 1747), wife of Alexander de Medalle and daughter of Reverend Laurence Sterne ; three-quarter-length, to right, low dress, ornament on head, hair falling on shoulders, left hand on bust of her father, which stands on table in front of her to right, also books, paper in right hand, curtain in background to right.
