The Book of O'Hara is a vellum manuscript duanaire or book of praise poems, comprising 62 pp. mainly in the hand of Tuathal O hUiginn, late 16th century, with some additions from the 17th century.
As noted in the Accessions Record: This book is accompanied by five letters, 1827-1833, to Major O'Hara from Myles O'Reilly of the Heath, Maryborough, concerning the foregoing manuscript. These are loosely inserted in a handwritten catalogue of the manuscript completed by John O'Donovan in 1831. (see GMS 1,303/2)
