Inscribed in pencil l.c..: Jack "The Batchelor" Connor born Wexford 1736 came to Rush 12 yrs old traded illegally with Isle of Man then owned by "Duke of Atholl" & used by pirates as clearing house for contraband. Jack & Capt. Field were supplied with boats by Dublin merchants. Traded between Dunkirk Dublin [...] became ill & died in 1772 aged 36.
