Summary:General Sir Redvers Buller, (1839-1908), was appointed special commissioner for Kerry and Clare. He informed Sir Michael Hicks-Beach, Chief Secretary of Ireland, that both landlords and tenants required coercion and protection. In this illustration, Erin is pointing to wounded women in the corner of a room and offering the hangman's noose to Sir Redvers Buller in front of caputered rebels. She urges him to do his duty.
