A letter from Mr. James Ryan, director of coal mines (late of the Netherton Colliery, near Dudley) on his method of ventilating coal mines :
for which he received the gold medal and 100 guineas from the Society for the Encouragement of Arts, Manufactures, and Commerce, Adelphi.
