Christianity in Ireland before A.D. 432. Patrick had no connexion with Rome. Ireland did not receive the gospel through any other emissary from Rome. The Irish Church is of eastern origin. St. Patrick was a member of the Gallican and of the Eastern Church. Independence of the Irish Church, and its rejection of the supermacy of Rome. The doctrines of the ancient Irish at variance with those of the Council of Trent.
