Summary:Charles Stewart Parnell, visited William Ewart Gladstone at his home at Hawarden, Flintshire, England on 18 December 1889 to discuss Home Rule for Ireland. In this colour chromolithograph Parnell and Gladstone are depicted toasting each other over a plate of meat that has been cut and has the words "Irish Affairs" written on it. Two flags, one saying "Nottingham" and the other saying "Liverpool" are pinned into the meat. Above the two men is a banner with the words "Welcome to Hawarden" on it.
