Summary: | The Rev. Henry Maule [later Church of Ireland Bishop of Cloyne] founded this charity school for children adjacent to St Ann’s, Shandon, Cork. It was modelled on St Stephen’s Hospital, located in the South Liberties, Cork [known informally as the ‘Blue Coat School’] and inevitably became known as the ‘Green Coat’ Hospital. |
