Summary:Erin emerges triumphantly from a grave atop a snow-covered mountain while holding aloft a cross and the crown of Home Rule. Inscribed on the tombstone behind her are the words "Ireland Buried Here 1171", indicating the year of the arrival of Norman King Henry II. John Bull cringes with fear and the Union Jack lies broken at his feet. In the distance the then-serving Viceroy, Lord Spencer and his Chief Secretary are awestruck by this vision.
