| Summary: | Sketchbook bound in green cloth with tie [76 pages, many blank]. 25 have calligraphic text and illustrations on the verso, one page in pencil. The first section of the sketchbook is a series of comic-serious health recommendations [relating to the treament of tuberculosis?]. The second section continues the medical theme and relates the tale of two doctors attempting to put weight on a young lady. Written throughout in Bull's fine calligraphic hand; signed on the title-page. |

The first "There's 'Air" consists of 26 pages at the beginning of the sketchbook; the next 12 pages of the sketchbook has a second tale "A Memory. Painful but true" written by Violet Young and illustrated by René Bull. Note in pencil on page 53: Verse 10. (omitted). / Her Bones [they?] grew out, her face it grew thin / Macfie still maintained, "Its original sin" / "And dyspepsia combined, For potatoes she loathes" / "The last plateful she had, she flung over my clothes".
