Summary:Both drawings show processions with drums, bands, banners and flags. One banner bears the words "We will be free". A man carries a flag, part of which is made up of the United States of America flag. Another man carries a pike with "98" inscribed on it, a reference to 1798.

C.W. Cole was sent to Limerick to cover the Land League Demonstration there which was to coincide with Charles Stewart Parnell being offered the Freedom of the city. Parnell arrived in Limerick on 1st November 1880 and attended the demonstration and the following day received the Freedom of the city.
