Summary: | A portfolio of twelve large drypoint with etching prints by Glasgow artist Frederick Arthur Farrell, presented to President Douglas Hyde in January 1944 by President Władysław Raczkiewicz, (1885-1947) of Poland, who was then living in exile in London. Written in ink in manuscript hand is an inscription from Raczkiewicz to Hyde: "To His Excellency / Dr. Douglas Hyde / President of Ireland / as a token of warm and friendly feelings. / Władysław Raczkiewicz. / London, / January, 1944". This portfolio of etchings is numbered No. 28 of 50. Amongst the etchings are images of cities - Gdynia, Kraków, Gdańsk [then known as Danzig], Warsaw, Poznań, Lwów and Vilnius, Lithuania [previously known as Wilno].
