Handbills prints extracts from the first manifesto of the Irish Volunteers, promulgated at the Rotunda Meeting, November 25, 1913 with a further assertion that the Volunteers have prevented conscription being introduced into Ireland. At foot of sheet on recto: "Don't applaud the Volunteers if you won't join them. The future of your country depends on your action now. Seek out the nearest company and take your stand with those whose work is for Ireland in Ireland, a Dhia Saor Éire". On verso: "Join the Irish Volunteers, recruits may enrol in the Dublin Brigade at any of the undermentioned drill centres ... Forms of application for membership can be procured from the Irish Volunteer Headquarters. Printed at bottom of sheet on verso: "We' ll have our own again". |
