Containing the following: "The Irish Independent of October 18th, 1919, stated that at a recent conference the Sinn Feiners resolved to contest all the Nationalist seats in Ulster at the next General Election. The responsability for any consequences must rest solely on the leaders of Sinn Fein". The Roman Catholic bishops of Ulster proposed a compromise between Nationalists and Sinn Féiners in respect of eight seats in the province of Ulster in the December 1918 General Election.
