Summary:View of Simmonscourt Castle, County Dublin, Ireland. The present Simmonscourt Pavillion is built in the former grounds of this castle. Only remnants of the medieval castle complex remain. The castle used to guard the passage over the river Dodder on the vital supply route from Dalkey to the city of Dublin. In the foreground of the drawing, a horse lies down on the grass while a pig wanders around nearby.
