[View of a castle with ruined fortifications]
Tree on left, cow near centre, both in the foreground against the background of a series of ruined fortifications, including the gate of a town. No such impressive series of defences survives in Ireland, so could it be somewhere outside Ireland.

The mounting of this drawing would suggest that the drawing may once have been pasted in Austin Cooper's "Scrapbook of Irish Antiquities", but later became detached from it.
Pencil drawing on verso shows what looks like a farmhouse.
Physical description: 1 drawing : pen & wash ; image 16 x 23.4 cm., on sheet 25.4 x 17.8 cm.
