Summary:Drawings of what Colonel Charles Vallancey describes as "The Crotal, corabasna or Cibbual". The latchet (Fig. 1) is perhaps one of the six found on the estate of Vallancey's and William Burton Conyngham (1733-1796), at Slane, County Meath in 1781. The trumpet was described at the time as being in the possession of the College Museum (Trinity College Dublin, Ireland) while the sword is tated to have been in Vallancey's own posession.
