This is probably a copy of a plan made in Murrisk on July 20th, 1779, by either Gabriel Beranger (ca. 1730-1817) or Angelo Maria Bigari (floruit later eighteenth century), both of whom visited the abbey during a tour of Connacht commissioned by Colonel William Burton (later Conyngham). There is no evidence that Austin Cooper himself visited the Abbey of Murrisk, County Mayo, Ireland. A drawing of Murrisk found in this collection (see 2122 TX (3) 18) is by Bigari.
